Mountain scooter rides around the Almkopf
Walking to the valley or going by cable car? You’re familiar with both. Discover a new and fun way of travelling from the Hochalm mountain station down to Berwang and Bichlbach: riding a mountain scooter! The zippy scooters wait for speedy riders at the valley stations of the Almkopfbahn in Bichlbach and the Sonnalmbahn in Berwang. Quickly travel up to the starting point of all that fun by cable car. On your marks, get set, go! If you like, you can race the entire ten kilometres / 500 altitude metres each down via Berwang to Bichlbach on the logging and the tarmacked road. There’s also the shorter route to the Sonnalmbahn valley station.
Children of approx. eight years are able to steer the mountain scooter themselves. The decision as to whether they can or can’t go is made after a brief trial run at the rental station. Children from the age of five can ride in tandem with a parent, and there are mountain scooters with child’s seats on the handlebar for toddlers. Please note that helmets are mandatory for all scooter riders! They are included in the mountain scooter rental rate. You can also bring your own bike helmet. The high-performance wheel disc brakes on the front and back wheel ensure a safe ride. Riding mountain scooters is possible in any weather, but there are no mudguards mounted on these fun sport devices. In other words, scooter riders can get dirty in wet conditions.
