Mountain scooter hire in Berwang-Bichlbach

On foot into the valley or by cable car? You already know that. Discover a new and fun way of travelling from the Hochalm mountain station down to Berwang and Bichlbach: a ride on a mountain scooter! The speedy scooters are waiting for speedy riders at the valley stations of the Almkopfbahn in Bichlbach and the Sonnalmbahn in Berwang. The respective mountain railway takes you quickly up to the starting point of the fun. One, two, three, off you go! If you like, you can speed down the whole ten kilometres/ 500 metres in altitude on the forest and asphalt road via Berwang to Bichlbach. The route can also be shortened to the Sonnalmbahn valley station.

Mountain scooter hire for children and adults

Children aged around eight are able to steer the mountain scooter independently. After a short test ride at the hire station, a decision is made as to whether the little scooter fan is ready. Children from the age of five can ride in tandem with a parent and for toddlers there are mountain scooters with a child seat on the handlebars. Important: Helmets are compulsory for all scooter riders! This is included in the hire price for the mountain scooter. Of course, you are also welcome to bring your own helmet. The powerful disc brakes on the front and rear wheels ensure a safe ride. Riding a mountain scooter is possible regardless of the weather, but there are no mudguards on the fun sports equipment. This means that scooter riders can get dirty in wet weather.

FAQ

Where can I hire mountain scooters in Berwang-Bichlbach?
The scooters can be hired at the valley stations of the Almkopfbahn cable car in Bichlbach and the Sonnalmbahn cable car in Berwang. The mountain railway then takes you up to the starting point, where the descent on the mountain scooter begins.

From what age are children allowed to ride the mountain scooters?
After a short test ride at the hire station, it is checked whether the child is able to use the mountain scooter safely and responsibly. In principle, children aged eight and over are allowed to whizz down into the valley on the mountain scooter independently. Children under the age of eight can ride in tandem with an adult. There are child seats on the handlebars of the mountain scooters for the very little ones.

Is it possible to ride a mountain scooter in all weathers?
Riding a mountain scooter is fun in all weathers from spring to autumn. As there are no mudguards on the tyres of the scooter, it can splash when the road is wet.  Appropriate equipment is therefore recommended in wet weather. Disc brakes on the rear and front tyres ensure a safe descent in adverse weather conditions.
